The Only Armor You'll Need To Get Through 2018: Bulletproof Coffee

We’ve all heard about the popular butter-in-coffee craze that boasts amazing health benefits. I, for one, was skeptical about the idea when I first heard about it. This feeling only grew when I tried the butter drink a few years ago. I was walking the isles of a Food Expo when I saw a Bulletproof Coffee demonstrator take a chunk from an overwhelming large tower of butter, mix it into a blender with coffee, and hand samples of the oily dark elixir to myself and other overly-eager foodies. The one sip I took of the rich, frothy, pungent sample was quite enough for me to write it off completely. But after having friends rave about the health benefits and taste of the drink over the years, I did some research on the topic and decided it was worth another try. Thankfully, there are vegan versions you can make that have the same health benefits, are animal friendly, and taste better (in my opinion).

According to research, the mixture of the ingredients with the coffee provides a filling drink, that gives you lasting energy (without crashing later in the day), improves mental clarity, and is filled with antioxidants. It has also been known to help burn fat, build muscle, and jumpstart your metabolism. After finding that out, the Fruitive team and I set out to develop our own version of the coffee energizer and developed one that is not only healthy, but also tastes quite good. Fruitive’s version of Bulletproof coffee is made with organic, kosher, and vegan ingredients: Award-winning Spyhouse Roasters coffee, coconut oil, coconut milk, and vanilla extract. Needless to say, I am now a big believer of this frothy goodness.

So before heading to your morning Crossfit class, work meeting, or making those Christmas gift returns, stop in to one of our Norfolk locations for your Bulletproof coffee fix. That’s what I’ll be doing!

Cheers,
